Coral Gables

The city of Coral Gables was one of the first planned communities in the city of Miami. George Edgar Merrick developed Coral Gables in the 1920s and it was incorporated in 1925.

Since it’s very beginning it was designed to be a very organized and livable city. The cities architecture is almost entirely what is called Mediterranean revival style.

It has several mostly good schools and a business district that runs mainly around two arteries, one is Miracle Mile and the other one is Ponce de Leon Avenue, although this is changing day after day.

Since it’s very beginning Coral Gables was meant to house the University of Miami and it has grown to be a very well known option to thousands of local, national and international students from all over the globe.

Coral Gables offers lots of recreational spaces. It offers parks in different areas of the city, like Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens, Matheson Hammock Park, and smaller parks scattered all over the city. Coral Gables also offers a wonderful community center and youth center close to miracle mile, on University Avenue, a community pool called Venetian Pools, and other places of interest like the Coral Gables Museum, Coral Gables House, were John Merrick used to live, and the Lowe Art Museum which is located in the University of Miami campus.

Coral Gables is also a great tourism destination. It has a beautiful world-renowned hotel called The Biltmore that offers golf and tennis courts available to its visitors and the community. There are also other very good hotel options in the city.

Coral Gables offers different kinds of living areas. There is apartment buildings there is smaller homes located on smaller lots they are bigger homes located on bigger lots and there are also some astonishing waterfront properties all along Biscayne Bay. Some communities are in close communities and others are open.

There is no doubt that Coral GablesĀ is a very attractive and valuable area where to live.
